CONTROL POWER TRANSFORMERS
-
A Quality Option for Your Business
As a designer and manufacturer of standard and custom control power transformers, Acutran specializes in control power transformers that are single-phase and used to supply control power in switchgear, motor starters and distribution equipment. Acutran offers complete customization on you CPT design, with some of the standard features.
What is a Control Power Transformer?
An Acutran control power transformer, or CPT for short, is an isolation transformer that is build to withstand short periods of inrush current while providing stable secondary voltage.
Transformers are manufactured in a variety of choices to meet many applications. Control transformers are available in a variety of primary and secondary voltage combinations from 120/240, 240/480, 480/600, or any special combination.
CPTs are primarily used to supply voltage to a load which requires significantly more current when initially energized than under normal steady state operating conditions as in starter motor applications. Control Power Transformers are designed to reduce supply voltages to control circuits in switchgear. Or CPTs can be use by Original Equipment Manufacturers for their equipment to control voltage to secondary systems.
Acutran CPTs are designed and manufactured with the highest quality insulation, build using high quality grain-oriented core steel with copper conductors and all Acutran CPTs are VPI’d with UL approved varnish Acutran CPTs meet the requirements of IEEE C57.12.01.
We provide CPTs of all shapes and sizes – low or medium voltage, low run quantities with custom accessories like fuses, shields, or special terminal connections.
